I am delighted to introduce the letter from Mrs Norris (Mansfield Park by Jane Austen) to Narcissa Malfoy (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J K Rowling).

 

Mrs Norris has just returned from her visit to Sotherton Court laden with goodies coerced from the housekeeper. Narcissa’s husband is in Azkaban Prison for aligning with The Dark Lord; her sister wishes Malfoy Manor to become the Death Eaters’ headquarters, and her son has been tasked with killing Dumbledore, Hogwarts’ Headmaster, to prove to Voldemort that the Malfoys remain loyal. Naturally Mrs Norris has decided to weigh in.
