Uriah Heep to Dolores Umbridge
A matching meanness of spirit makes these characters fitting correspondents: Dolores Umbridge from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Uriah Heep from the Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield.
Both Umbridge and Uriah have delusions of grandeur that feed their antipathy toward the people around them. Uriah cloaks his real nature in unctuous flattery and faux humility but of the two, Umbridge is the true villain. Boastful, vain and bigoted she will do anything to rise to the top. Lying and division are her trademarks.
